A small idea grows into a big dream

I'm Loui. I've been vegan since 2010 and live with five pigs, five chickens, two Romanian dogs, an old farm cat, and 10 vegan roommates at LiPaiA, an outpost of the LiPaiO sanctuary, in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein.

In spring 2025, after a botched disc surgery and the realization that I couldn't return to my nursing job, I decided to become a self-employed artist. I soon planned to develop merchandise products from my animal rights art because I wanted to advocate for "the veganization of the world" not only privately but also professionally. The idea of a small merchandise shop quickly evolved into the idea of a really large, international vegan online shop and my own brand, VEGAN MONSTER. The first step has now been taken—I've started building the shop. I'm excited to see what happens next.

Through 15 years of vegan living and various volunteer activities in veganism and animal rights, I have a large, including international, vegan network. Therefore, I was optimistic from the start that my idea could succeed.

Both organic-certified clothing and more affordable options made from conventional textiles will be sold. Although I myself buy (almost) exclusively organic, I also offer the inexpensive alternatives and leave the purchasing decision to the customers, because I believe that with the vegan messages on our products, we can convince more people of veganism than if we make everything 100% perfect.

Since these will be print-on-demand products, which are only produced after an order is placed, resources are conserved and there is no overproduction.

Some of the proceeds from the sales will go to our sanctuary association LiPaiO e.V. How and how much exactly, I still need to figure out.

There's still a lot to do before the shop can go online. In the meantime, I continue to care for our sanctuary animals and support the association and other animal rights projects, such as the Cube of Für Alle Tiere e.V. in many ways. However, I hope that sales can start this winter.
